quiet weekend

Just wanted to write a quick update. There is not much new going on around our house. Nate is starting to adjust to his new job, and finding his groove. It has been really nice having him work closer to home. Cooper appreciates it too because he get to stretch his legs during Nate's lunch breaks.

We were originally supposed to head home this weekend, but with the way gas prices are we decided to stay put. Hopefully gas prices don't get up as high as they are predicting this summer. It was really tough to decide to stay put this weekend, and we are bummed we won't be seeing our family.

And I just had to add some photos of Coop to this post. I told Nate I need another photo subject around the house.  Hopefully you guys aren't getting sick of photos of Coop. I know I never could.

Steve and the kids are coming to stay next Friday, so I will have lots of cute faces to photograph then.

We gave Coop a roll from paper towels to play with this morning and he loved it.

He liked chewing on it, and sticking his nose in it.

I can't help it. I just think he is the cutest.

We hope everyone has a fun weekend. I think we might have to get out and enjoy this snow today. Spring will (thankfully) be here before we know it.

old dog...new tricks

Hey guys, it's Coop and I am taking over the blog today.

My little cousin Emeriss was here this weekend, and my Mom thinks he may just be a bad influence on me. Why? Well he showed me how much fun it can be to rip my toys to shreds.

You know, those really special ones that my mom buys me for every event in my life. Birthdays, Valentines day, Halloween...you name it and she probably has gotten me a toy for it.

Exhibit A:

My toy spider is now eyeless. Which is cool with me since he was always looking at me funny.

I sure hope Mom is ready for all of the tricks and secrets Emeriss and I are going to teach each other the next time we get together.

happy valentine's day

Happy Valentine's Day, Nathan! How lucky I am to have someone who will dance through life with me, who gets me and makes me feel so loved. I could not think of a better person to spend a lifetime of Valentine's days with.

And to all of you, my family and friends. Happy Valentine's day to each and everyone of you. I love you all, and could not be more thankful to have you in our lives!

I am off to spread some love!

new start

Is anyone else ready for spring/summer? I know I am, and I know that we have had a pretty mild winter thus far, but I miss my sunshine on long walks after work. Cooper misses that too. In the meantime, we have finished all seven Harry Potter books and watched all nine movies. Loved them all, and I had a hard time putting them down.

In other news, Nate has started a new job. We are super excited about this as he now only has to drive 5 minutes to work. (I am also extremely jealous of this since I have to drive 15 minutes to a parking lot, wait for a bus, take a bus for another 15 minutes and then walk 10 minutes to get to work.)

However, I will not let my bitterness hold me back from being super excited about this new start for Nate. It was taking him about 30-35 minutes to get to work. We are happy to have him close to home, and to start getting familar with our community. We have been here for a year and half and still feels like we hardly know anyone.

I think it was a little bittersweet for Nate. He was excited about this new start and really enjoys the new clinic, but it was a little hard to say goodbye to the patients he has grown to care alot about over the last year. I can relate from my time working at a clinic in the Quad Cities. He will defintely miss taking care of them.

In time he will build similar relationships here. So, if you know anyone in our area looking for an awesome chiropractor, I happen to know one. He also does acupunture, and I don't know how I lived before having been blessed with Nate in my life. I feel better than ever! No joke.

My sister and her husband are coming to see us and celebrate his birthday this weekend. We haven't seen any family since Christmas, so we are due. In other words, hurry up Friday! I cannot wait to see them.
