Time Flies when...

Time truly does fly when you are having fun. It was nice for Nate and I to have a weekend to ourselves last weekend before all of the craziness begins. We now have no open weekends until after the wedding and we get back from our honeymoon.

On our free weekend we worked on wedding stuff, went on some great walks, and even made it to a baseball game here in town. This weekend we are excited to head home and can't wait to see everyone.

I thought I would share another one of my projects with you. I have been wanting a new bracelet, but not wanting again to spend the money. I found this bracelet on a blog and decided to attempt to make one myself. Below are the pictures. I used yellow scrapbook paper strips, rolled them around toothpicks, and coated them with puzzle glue. They were really easy to make and I am happy at the outcome. Enjoy!

Here is picture of the bracelet in action!

20 Things

Some friends of mine were all posting on their blogs 20 things that you may not know about them, I decided I wanted to join in on the fun!

1. I am allergic to cats, and had to has sinus surgery when I was in 7th grade due to my constant battle with sinus infects. It's great that I have met Nate now though, because with him adjusting me, I rarely have any problems with my allergies anymore. It's amazing!

2. I worry about everything! I worry myself sick. I really wish I could break this one.

3. I am a HUGE Daddy's girl. :)

4. I gave up pop when I was 14 and haven't missed it at all.

5. I knew I wanted to marry Nate before we started dating and he says he felt the same way. That's why it took so long to make it official I wanted to enjoy my time in college with the girls and being single. I didn't want to be the friend that settled down and got boring. See there is the worrying. Know I wish I would have gotten together with him sooner.

6. My favorite ice cream is coldstone and preferably the peanut butter cup perfection.

7. I love to dance. I dance just about everywhere, at home and even at work.

8. I chose to go to the University of Iowa to start over. I loved high school, but I wanted to meet new people and find out who I was away from my comfort zone.

9. I like even numbers. I don't know why but I prefer to do every thing in even number or on even number dates, and if it is on something say like the 13th I justify it by saying 1 + 3 =4.... so that makes it ok. It's silly I know.

10. I am an extremely light sleeper.

11. My parents are both 1 of 10 kids, so I could never imagine having a small family.

12. Conveniently for Nate I am not much of a shopper. I always go in the store knowing what I need, go directly to those items, and then I'm out.

13. Going alone with number 12, I dislike crowded places. I want to escape as quickly as possible.

14. I love theme parks, but preferably on a now to crowded day. haha

15. Growing up I as a picky-eater. I am getting much better, but I don't like meat cooked at least medium well, and I don't think I will ever eat fish again.

16. Speaking of fish, I have never caught a fish. I went fishing a lot with my dad when I was young, but never caught a fish. Which is probably for the best since they kind of scare me.

17. I am a "planner". I like to go into something with a plan. That's why I hope we can figure out where we are going after Nate graduates soon. It's not so bad because I have the wedding to focus on, but I want to know what our plan is!

18. I wanted to be an author when I grew up.

19. I can be an emotional wreck. Thanks Mom.

20. Well you probably do know this one but I am the most excited about marrying Nate. I cannot wait!

Passing Time...

I have to start out by saying that the name of this blog is a little deceiving. I have plenty to do (like planning a wedding :) ), but the past two weeks Nate has been busy with board review, so Cooper and I have had some extra time on our hands. Usually Nate and I spend time talking about our days and taking Cooper with a walk. Unfortunately with the rain this week we have been stuck inside, so I decided to work on a project that I have been wanting to complete for awhile.

Before I get into my project, I want to say Good Luck today Nate! He has part IV boards all day today and tomorrow. I know he has been nervous leading up to today, but I can honestly say he was looking very confident this morning. We cannot wait to celebrate him being finished this weekend by going to a River Bandits game (one of our favorite things to do together) this Sunday. Also, on Sundays they have bring your dog to the park day, so Coop may get to experience his first game!

Another side note, I am happy the say the invites are out! I am very happy with the way they turned out, and I hope you all enjoy them as well. After I finished the invites I decided I wanted to somehow use them as a decoration, so I came us with this idea.

I simply added a few of our engagement photos to this tray along with the invites. And now I have somewhere to organize things on my coffee table. Which, if you know me, is key. I love it when everything has a place.

On to what I have been up to this week. I have been wanting a new pillow to spice up our couch a little bit. So I attempted to make my own, also helping me save a ton of money. I started with just a plain $6 pillow from Hobby Lobby.I used a hot glue gun to twist together the flowers. The flowers are made from scraps of clothing that I had been planning to take to Goodwill but now they found a place on my couch.
Here is the finished product!

Also, I have a picture of Cooper enjoying the new pillow. :)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to both my mom, Jolene, and Nate's mom, Mary Lou. We love and appreciate you both! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful mothers as you!

Mother...
You filled my days with rainbow lights,
Fairy tales and sweet dream nights,
A kiss to wipe away my tears,
Gingerbread to ease my fears.
You gave the gift of life to me
And then in love, you set me free.
I thank you for your tender care,
For deep warm hugs and being there.
I hope that when you think of me
A part of you
You'll always see.

Meagens 4th Brithday!

Yesterday was my niece Meagen's 4th birthday! I cannot believe she is already that old. To surprise my Mom I brought Meagen home with me last weekend for my shower, and so they could celebrate her birthday with her. Mom was thrilled, and we all loved being able to celebrate her birthday with her. She was so cute the whole way home she kept talking quietly to herself telling all kinds of make believe stories. She did great on a 4hr. car ride and didn't cause any problems for us. She was so tired by Sunday that she slept the whole way back home. However, when I asked her how her nap was she told me she wasn't sleeping. What a fun age. Happy Birthday Meagen Nate and I love you!

I also want to share one of my recent projects with you. I made these koozies for Krista's and my wedding parties. I did them the closest to our wedding colors that we could. I handed them out and the bach. party, so now each girl has one for the Big days as well!

Yay Nate!!!

I just wanted to say congratulations Nathan! He just found out he passed Part III boards! I am so excited and happy for you. You are doing awesome with school and you are so close to the finish.

Also Good Luck next weekend with the Part IV! I can't believe you are already to the last part, but very happy you are. I also can't wait for him to be done because he has had board review everyday this past week, and now all weekend and next week. Leaving me all alone till 10 every night. :( I'm sure he's just thrilled to be sitting there too, but I miss him!

Wedding Stress!

Just thought I would write something quick! My dress has been fitted and last weekend was my shower and bachlorette party! It was a ton of fun, and I will update more later with pictures and details. Thank you again to everyone who made it so special.

I would love to update more now, but I am crazy busy between work and trying to get invites out! If all goes to plan they will be in the mail by Friday. It sure does take a lot of time to make each and every invite with love ;)
